Lignano, Italy - South Africa's Paralympic athlete, Oscar Pistorius, turned in a career-best time of 45.07 in the 400-meter dash at the Meeting Internnazionale Di Athletica Leggera in Lignano, Italy.

Pistorius finished first ahead of Jamaica's Lanceford Spence (46.23) and Michael Mason  (46.50) of Jamaica.

Pistorius's  time qualifies him to compete at the World Championships in Daegu next month.
